UE Custom Cable for Triple.Fi 10's?

I apologize if this has been answered already, but I would appreciate it if someone could clear up some details for me with these cables.  I saw that Logitech has them on sale for $30 right now, and I would like to get one for my Triple.Fi's, but I'm a bit confused by the pre and post September 2010 thing.  The post 2010 model looks like it would have a neater fit for the TF's, however I see people still going for the pre 2010 model.  Is there any difference in sound or the quality of the materials used, or is it just the connector?  I know they will fit although somewhat tightly, which I can live with.

Another thing I have considered is making my own cable, but if these are better than stock for $30 (most I'd really want to spend on parts is $50) I could save myself a lot of time.

Thanks :)

I'm also interested in whether the new cables will fit, I haven't received my TF10's yet so I don't know what the connectors are like

The newer ones look like they would be an exact match, the older ones not so much. I would post a picture of the connector but I had to send mine back to Logitech.

Thats a good question I'd like to know if they fit cuz for $30 thats not a bad deal as long as their much better than stock.

Well I went ahead and ordered a set, I'll keep you guys updated as to how well they fit.

Hope it fits, as I'm interested in this cable as well.

Someone told me TF 10's cable is expensive to replace. Hope this one could work well with TF10

I think those cables are for the custom in ear monitors, not the TF10s. the pins might not fit properly.

You can't get a stock replacement cable UE for $19.99, thats not expensive.

They'll fit for the most part, from what I understand the spacing it off by the slightest percent so they fit more snugly than usual, but work.  This is for the "old" series though, the connectors on the new ones at least look like they'd fit without having to trim the cables (old ones were too long.)

As for costs, a high-grade replacement can set you back over $100 easily, from what I understand this should be somewhere in between stock and one of those in terms of sound quality.

Why not go straight to the after-market cables for TF10? for example Null Audio, either Arete or Lune

I just ordered Arete, will post impression once I have it

Here are my aftermarket cable reviews.  The Arete is a great choice IMO and if you can get the Chris_Himself cables with a TF10 connector, that is another great choice!

Because if I go that route I would rather just make them myself, for $30 the UE Customs seem like a good inexpensive drop-in solution.

Thanks for the info, you have lots of nice pictures...  :)

From the shots you have of the pins on the UE Custom cable, it looks like it is the same form factor as the TF10 plug, although the pins are a bit recessed.  Do you have any idea if it would fit, or would I have to shave down the shroud a bit?  Also, is it the same problem as the previous connectors, in which the plugs are slightly too big?

They look nice and flexible. Too bad they don't look like they're for TF10s.
