It's very simple.
- you get paired with a random person
- you get into contact with that person and decide how you are going to exchange gifts: just a CD or something else (usually just a CD)
- if agreeing on a CD, a good thing to ask whether to exchange genre/music preferences or leave it a complete surprise
- of course, exchange address info
- send something to each other!
