Is the Denon AH-D2000 still a real option?

We still recommend the Denon 2000, discuss its pros and cons vs the competition, etc.

But while various retailers have it on their websites, it seems that none has any in stock.

At best, there will be a notice such as "expected in 2 to 4 weeks", or similar.  (Most just say "out of stock").

In fact, even Denon's own website says they're "Out of Stock".

http://usa.denon.com/US/Product/Pages/ProductDetail.aspx?PCatId=Headphones%28DenonNA%29&catalog=DenonNA_US&CatId=OverEar%28DenonNA%29&Pid=AHD2000%28DenonNA%29

So, I'm wondering if we can still consider them to be a real option, since they are apparently not obtainable.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

i can see that they sell in HMVs,

so they are still obtainable

Thanks; I hadn't seen the HMV site.

Still, though, if only one retailer has them - and that retailer is in the UK - I'm not sure if

they should be as popular a recommendation and choice as they are here on HF.

I'm going to do some additional research on the situation, and hopefully get some more definitive answers.

I think they are still a great set of cans, and perhaps the only reason it says they aren't available is because the websites haven't been updated?  I can't say I'd really know.  I have one for sale ;)
