600ohm DT880 + Little Dot MK III

Going to buy a Little Dot III, and shortly thereafter, DT 880s...The 600ohm version. The upgradeitis has hit! (It's been since 2008 since I bought my HD595s, so it isn't happening quick)... 

Is there a way to buy a Little Dot without $50 in shipping?

You can attempt used. If it's new, there's one seller basically. If it's used, well, save on everything.

 

By the way, the DT880 + LDMK3 is a good setup. I very much enjoyed the DT990 + LDMK3. Adds some warmth and body to the DT880 so that it doesn't split you in half.

The LDMK3 has plenty of power for the DT880 600ohms it seems. I'll also be using the amp on other headphones like MDR-V6, HD595, and maybe whatever else I decide I want to give a try (AKG K701?).  I'm quite excited. The DT880s seem to be almost unanimously rated as excellent.

Just read a bunch about the LDMK3 and it seems like there were some questions about it driving the 600ohm version of the DT880s. Did you have the 600ohm 990s, MalVeaux?

Yeap. 600ohm.

 

Sounded great.

 

The LDMK3 is not ideal, but budget dictates your options.

 

Another strong option is the Valhalla by Schiit. There's one for sale in the for sale forum for $250 (good deal).
