Hmm, saw those at my local Circuit City. They sound rather warm...not much highs. Of course the listening situation wasn't ideal, and I didn't get to turn them up enough to see if the sub's enclosure would crap out like most PC speakers do at half volume.
my friend got these speakers packaged with his computer. i think if i stuck an earbud up my ass and started farting, it would sound better than these speakers.
my friend who is a tin ear, was upset because he paid extra cash to get an upgrade to those speakers, and he even noticed that it sucked (sucked more than the altecs that originally come with the package).
the satellites can really only produce the upper half of the midrange. the subwoofer, isn't really a subwoofer... it's a mid-bass speaker. it sounds so horrible. the only thing you pay for is style, and it doesn't even look all that stylish in real life.
I'm not a big fan of Harmon Kardon speakers. All the new Mac speakers (SoundSticks, globes, sub) are made by HK, and while they are definitely better than the speakers included with most computers, none of them have really impressed me with their sound.
