Sub-$30 IEs with iPhone volume/mic/controls

Tried searching everywhere but I'm having a difficult time finding proper headphones in this price range. Anybody have any luck? I'll go up to $50 if necessary but I'd rather keep it low since I churn through my commuter earphones so quickly. The 3 button remote is a must and I'd really like a full sound. Thanks!

Hey man, what about the Sony MDREX38IP? They're in the $20-$25 range and they have volume controls and microphone. I'm in the same boat as you, considering these. Anyone have other recommendations?

The Sony's quoted above are good quality, for the cheap price (under 30).  They tend to have a warmer signature with rolled off highs.  That's all I remember from memory, sorry.

Another IEM to consider would be from MEE, look into their IEMs which most have great bang for buck...

Thanks guys, I will check those out. I also found the Maximo's ip-395, anybody try those? I've seen good things written on head fi about the 595's but there doesn't look to be a big difference between the two sets other than the price point (~$30 instead of ~$50)

More expensive headphones are more durable. Before I got my Klipsch Image S4s ($80), I had JVC Marshmellows ($30) and Skullcandy Smokin' Buds ($30). Those both broke in less than a year. I've abused the S4 much more (getting cable snagged on things, accidentally pulling my laptop across a desk with the cable, carrying them in bags) and yet after ~1.5 years, there is still no sign of them breaking anytime soon.

I'm not trying to get you to part with more of your money, I'm just telling you something you might like to know.

I have to recommend these, if you would only wait a month.

Hey Alex, you bring up a good point. I'll look at some of the higher priced ones if nothing else of quality come up. Also I should note I have good headphones at work and at home..so this is out of the house/on the go headphones.

Those brainwavz look great...I'd really like the volume buttons though. Apparently with iOS5 you can take pictures using the volume up button on your headphones remote in addition to volume up on the phone itself. That would come in really handy. Maybe I'll look into volume adapters with those.

Thanks for your help so far guys!

Forgive me but I'm really curious as to how pushing the volume up button on your headphones with one hand while holding the phone with the other is going to be more convenient then holding your phone up and taking pictures with the volume button on the phone. Or am I missing something?  :s

Ahah no problem, I can see why someone would think that. Having a remote would limit camera shake greatly since you're just holding it still instead of trying to press a button down. Or if you're not holding the phone itself and placing it somewhere beyond arm's length..maybe for a certain angle of a shot or the front facing camera (kind of like a timer but easier).  I should note I take a lot of pictures with my phone
