Do you already have a DAC?

What are your sound prefrences? Warm? Cold? Whats music do you like?

2000's dont take that much to drive. I use them for my "portable" setup with my laptop. I find they sound just as good on my E10/CMoy BB combo as they do on some of my nicer desktop amps.

what is DAC?

I dont thinkI have one...

and I listen to: house, electro, club, dance and not much to hip hop

and are you sure I dont need amp?

I am taking this for example:

I dont know if there is connection but I listen to bose 150$ headphones on iphone and it sound amazing.

when I connect it to my htc evo it did not sound good at all.

whay did it happen?

ive got an evo and its output does suck.  night and day difference between my bros iphone 3gs and my evo.

you have a DAC.

its just the built in dac in your phone/portable player/computer.

A DAC is a digital to analog converter. If you listen to allot of music on your computer you may want to think about upgrading to a simple DAC like the Fiio E10 or other small USB based DACs. They provide considerable improvments in SQ when you compair them to your computers onboard sound. Think of them as external sound cards.

Anyway, as far as amps go the 2000's DO benefit from an amp, it just doesnt take much of an amp to get them going. If you JUST want an amp for your 2000's, most simple amps will work. For electronic music you should stick with a solid state amp (as opposed to a tube amp) as they often offer better impact. Tube amps tend to be warmer and smooth over allot of things to a degree. As far as particular model, just do some looking around. There are a huge amount of options. If you want to future proof, you could sink some money into it, but if you dont see yourself moving away from the 2000's anytime soon, allot of 80-150$ options will suit you well. Depends on your application.

Do any of you guys produce music? I'm considering buying these Denon AH-D2000 but I just wanted to check to see if anyone has tried making music with these suckers before. The specs seem good but you can never be to sure really...
