A n00b seeking guidance

I've been using a pair of Creative EP-640 (not 630) IEMs with a Zune 120 and a Sansa Clip+, and feel that its time the Zune got it's own head gear.

I've been looking at the Phonak PFE 012 Perfect Bass. I believe they would be ideal for me, since I always considered the Zune a little lacking in bass, but I would also like forum's opinion on how they would compare with the EP-640 (I have been unable to find any comparison since they're two completely different beasts).

Hello n00b. Whether the Zune's audio decoder "lacks bass" or not is going to be nearly unnoticeable compared to upgrading your headphones from the somewhat unimpressive EP-640. I don't have any personal experience with Phonak, but I have heard pretty good things. I think at the $100 pricepoint, you might be able to do even better though. For example, the JVC FXT90 are supposed to be the second coming of music itself, and are right around $120. What kind of music do you like to listen to?

I listen to mostly trance, house, big beats, chillout, and some selective rock bands. I just checked out the FXT90s, they do look rather lucrative. If I consider them, it will be difficult to ignore the Triplefi 10s.

I think its helpful to point out that the phonaks have interchangeable filters that let you adjust the bass. But yah once you start upping your budget its pretty hard to pass up the tf10s

Thanks. I decided to buy the JVC FXT90s. My dad has always been loyal to JVC equipment (VCRs and Audio since the 80s), and considering the overwhelmingly positive feedback the FXT90s have received I thought I might as well begin my sojourn into audiophile IEMs with a pair of JVCs.
