I'm assuming the glossy finish of the white version makes dirt very easy to wipe off?

Thanks!

As the owner of two of the black versions I am also curious to know whether the white ones turn yellow over time, as is the case with many white plastics.

Mine are over 2 years old and not a trace of yellow. Don't even recall having to wipe them. Only the pads show some signs of wear and discoloration.

@Evshrug has had the white ones for two years and said they never got dirty.

BTW, I'd highly recommend you get these if they're still available.  Depending on where you live, they're the same price as a new Q701 but they're based off the K702 Anniversary edition, which is normally almost double the price.

The white ones are almost $20 cheaper new on Amazon.  Just a little tip.

I owned my Q701 for two years and a few months, the white with black accents were as storm-trooper as the day I got them. Of course, I only used them in the house so I never got mud or grease on them or something, but there was no discoloration at all from my hands or laying face-up with them in bed, many-hour marathons of gaming sessions. Unless you work as a mechanic or try to microwave your headphones, they will stay clean with normal home use.

I actually feel the white with black are the best looking AKG's (besides the mocha lower end ones, those look pretty cool!). Aesthetics are mostly quite up to personal opinion, BUT from a design-principles and color theory point of view, white is a very "clean" and "pure" color, the repetition of the two black rings is a regular expected thing for the mind to process and it is more balanced than the single thin orange ring on a K712, black and white are complimentary opposites without being garish, and overall they have a mathematical symmetry and repetition that is stimulating for the brain. I'm surprised that the white isn't the most expensive Q701.

Has anyone here ever thought about using crossfeed to eq the sound as well as give the crossfeed benefits? I mean many people complain that bs2b dulls the sound for example but doesn't anyone think that it may be a good thing for headphones tuned like the q701s?
