JVC HARX700 bass distortion:(

Hey guys,

 

I bought a pair of JVC HARX700's two days ago to upgrade my falling-apart Senn PX100's. I've been burning them in since I got them, but I'm a bit disappointed with the sound quality. If I turn up the bass with them, they completely distort. This is quite contrary to all the hundreds of posts I've read on how much bass they can produce, some even saying that they have too much bass??

 

I got them from Amazon, so I know that they aren't fakes, but is this really what HARX700's are like, distorting at the first sign of good bass?

 

Would appreciate any responses of HARX700 users, how is the bass through your cans?

Are you using far too much EQ?

Well, without EQ, there is pretty much no bass there. I tried to use EQ to raise the bass a bit, but then the headphones just distort:/

Well first you could tell what setup you're using (source/amp etc).

 

Second, try going the opposite instead. Lower everything else except the bass.

Holy crap! Ok....tried them from my comp setup, these things have SERIOUS bass!! :) Flip, shot for the help guys, tried that lower everything else except the bass, oh man.....$33?? What a win! :D
