Klipsch S4i worth $79? - Page 3

I actually purchased the CC51p's since they have a microphone which I really wanted. I didn't notice one with the A151s.  Also they were about $15-20 less than the A151s. I hope I enjoy them as I listen to mostly vocals/rock music. I was really dissapointed with the sound for the S4is for Rock/vocals. If you enjoy hip-hop/electronic music they are great and have heavy bass.

I just received my MEElectronic CC51's and they are much more balanced sounding than the Klipsch S4i's. It's actually amazing how many sounds you hear/were missing with the Klipsch headphones. I was very happy listening to Matisyahu as it sounded very pure and the accoustics were fantastic. I can hear so many new instruments it's exciting. 

 

Anyways, is it odd that my left ear and right ear have different fits for the grips?

It's not weird at all. A lot of people have different fits in their 2 ears. My right ear tends to need a bigger fit than my left.

BTW y'all are definitely right about these not being great headphones for rock. I am listening to electronic/bass heavy music and  their awesome and they don't do much for rock.

For $79.00 I feel is a decent price for these
earbuds but expect fragile wiring although
great sound after a couple weeks of burn in.
If you are hard on your toys I recommend
being careful with these or look around.Just
my honest opinion.

IMO, for 79$, you can get a better one, although the S4i is decent, but not really a bang/back for that price

There are lots of other options out there, but the S4s won't disappoint if you are a basshead.

Strange thing. I have a CowON with Etys ER4, etc. Pure nirvana.

 

But the ER4 does not work with my Android phone. The digital to analog conversion is probably not that good, amplification, equalization, whatever it is, I can't make my Etys work with a HTC phone.

 

But the S4 works well there with the HTC. It is so much better than the Ety. I guess (not a specialist) that the S4 coloration compensates for some of the phone shortcomings and the pair works well, above average I would say.

 

Now, with my CowOn I don't use the S4. It gets too bassy, unbalanced, etc.

 

So I guess it depends on how you will use it, what is the source etc. They are not GREAT phones, but they can get the job done in certain scenarios.

I was very disappointed with the s4i's. Very mediocre sound quality. I can't believe they're asking $80 for these. Even at $40 they're not a good buy. 

 

The earpods are superior at a far lower price point.

They're not bad earphones, but for for the asking price, you'd rather look somewhere else.

Before I gave mine away though, they sounded alright. Was bassy for my taste though, and like most people said, doesn't mesh really well with rock and alternative.

I'm sorry but it's a murder to say these are good for electronic music. I'm a long time house music listener, axwell, tiesto, markus schulz, hardwell, deniz koyu, sander van doorn, madeon, etc but these headphones simply can not catch up with what electronic music is to give. With due respect for those who have already bought them, these are only good for general use for a limited time. If your budget is limited, I'd wait and save a bit more then reconsider my options. Yes, they provide quality but not like you are going to feel music inside your soul. Maybe not to be expected much from this range but even the headphones that came with galaxy s3 can beat these. It's just like mids or if to be called, so highs are all forward, even can't name what this nuance is out there, but scratching your ears while supplementing all artificial bass. I've just ordered vsonic 07 bass edition, and I'm yet to confirm even those would work. I'd say nay to these.

Yeah, I really don't want to be repetitive with my criticism, but for potential buyers, I feel obligated to be honest about the s4's. 

 

1. the main problem is that dynamic range is awful; a singer screaming or cymbals crashing or any loud events merely elicits a whisper from the s4's. Dynamic range is completely flat. 

 

2. the mids and highs are flat out bad; bass isn't noteworthy, either. 

 

Overall, these sound like a slightly cleaner/less distorted version of the awful pre-packaged earbuds you want to toss and forget immediately. The only difference is, klipsch wants an outrageous $80 for these; even at half that, they're not worth it.

i agree. i have the s4 2's and did not see what all the great reviews were about. they definitly come up extremely short. i also hate the build quality
