Near Field Monitors

Thread Starter

I decided that finally I am tired of dealing crappy computer speakers and its time to up-grade. I want the real deal. Its time for some truly amazing speakers to make my head hum (within my budget about $300.) If someone can offer me some advice, even if its another site to go to (as I know this is mainly a headphone centric site) it would be much appreciated.

Yamaha HS50. the best for their price.

For that price there's not too much, perhaps stuff by KRK, the Yamaha's above, M-Audio etc.

I would strongly recommend going to a store and giving them a listen before you buy anything.

if you can up your budget by $200.00, really think you'd like BlueSky "exo" 2.1.   I prefer them to my Westlake Audio speakers which I use in larger settings.  Can't say enough about this BlueSky system.

It's time for the real deal..

I have a pair of KRK Rokit 6 on my desk for the last few weeks and i am amazed by their stereo imaging and the crystal sound coming out of these babies..

My main concern before i got them was if the bass would feel my needs(yeap i am a basshead) cause they have 6 inch woofers..

When i  feed them with techno tunes the bass really shakes the entire room...

I definitely recommend them for any kind of music...

They are amazing for their price...

But you may have to icrease your budget to $400...tongue.gif

Go to AVS Forums and you'd be surprised how good some low cost T-amp and half decent bookshelf speakers could do for near field listening given the low cost tongue_smile.gif

The 2 channel audio sub forums is a good starting point ^^

Completely flat / neutral response. Switches in back to adjust bass for corners, desk, wall, etc. (this is critical) and another for tweeter adjust. Built in amp.
