Best Set of Cans

Im liking the Sennheiser 598 and the audio technica m50.  Anyone have any experience with these, preference of recommendation on others?

My 2 cents.

Sennheiser HD-598 (open) better for surround sound, like games and movies.

ATH-M50s (closed) good for music and traveling or in public.

Im looking for a set of cans strictly for music listening purposes.  I listen to a lot of jam bands such as the grateful dead, phish, etc... as well as acoustic stuff, rock, and a lot of jazz.  I dont do rap or country if that helps any??
