Please help me to spend 300 bucks on speakers!!! Thank you!

Hi all,

I've been searching for many days, seeing many reviews and comparisons, but still can't make up my mind. So here is my situation:

Just sold my Altec Lansing MX5021 and want to upgrade to something better.

Location: computer desk in bedroom

Application: music 100% (rock, pop, jazz, classical, trance)

Budget on speakers: $300 CDN

Audio source: MacBook Pro

DAC: Nuforce uDac-2 (I think it's the best that I can find in Vancouver that is in my budget of 150 bucks)

I'm from Vancouver, and I do not want to buy anything from the US, it's just too much hassle for me. I have been to the websites of NCIX, Long and McQuade, Tom Lee, eBay, CL, Amazon, Futureshop, and BestBuy. And here are the candidates:

Audioengine A2 (189 while it's on sale otherwise 209)

M-Audio BX5A Deluxe 2 (299)

Bose Companion 20 (259) (the only one that I can listen to at the store)

Fostex PM0.4n (199)

My desk space is limited, so I'm not considering passive speaker setup.

I already know that I don't need to much bass, so no sub for sure. And I'm pretty sure the speakers from the list will give me enough bass.

Please pick one for me, and I'm open to other options, but please don't tell me to stretch my budget because $300 is my maximum.

Thank you.

Thanks, but that's Amazon US, the same set on Amazon Canada is $318...

Besides I can get the Deluxe 2 version for 299.

Sorry. Oh well, that sucks. At $150 those would be a sweet deal. From your list I would choose the M-Audio.
