New receiver, problem getting sound??

Thread Starter

So, I got a Denon AVR-1708 this week.

I have a PS3 and a new HDTV, and both M-Audio AV30's and Rokit KRK-5's(V1).

I have a few HDMI cables and optical cables.

I'm not getting any sound.

I tried running the HDMI from the PS3 into the HDMI In 1(DVD/HDP), the optical into the Opt-1(CD), and run RCA outs from CD-R/Tape to the back of the speakers.  I also tried running the Opt-2(VCR), and run RAC outs from VCR to the back of the speakers.

Can anyone here me fill me in what I'm doing wrong and what I should do?

Thanks in advance!

Might have to go into the setup and assign ports?

Yea this seems like the issue. PS3 doesn't auto assign ports you have to go into settings to set it correctly.

I was talking about going into the Denon's setup.

But I'm sure double checking the PS3 would not hurt.
