noooooo back to my usual complete confusion  confused.gif  now alot of people were saying they prefered the sound of the 600. is it worth getting the 600 for an extra 90 $ cad (I can get 650 for cheaper).

Hmmm, weird - you can get the HD650 for cheaper eh?

Well, here's more for the confusion ~ yes I prefer the HD600 myself, it's a more of neutral sounding headphone

and I don't need the laid back character, my ears love extended, clean treble. Lots of it.

It's not harsh sounding at all but it will grate if your recording sucks, the HD650 always smooths things over.

Not a good thing in my book but I understand that many will call that an 'asset'.

Might not be worth the $90 difference though since you may be tight on the amp budget in the first place.

Either one will need the Matrix M Stage.

Hmm i think i'll stay with the 650 because its cheaper and you guys said earlier that the coldplay recordings were generaly crappy.beyersmile.png

I'm listen U2 on my HD600 and it's sound great; HD600 have a large soundstage -but not like K701-, clean, rich high's and a deep bass but not overwhelming. In the future, I wish to change the stock cable with another cable.

i am getting bottlehead crack for my HD650.

read some reviews and i found that both pair up very well.

but again, if u want ss amp, then it is not a good choice.

Try looking into the Maverick D1. It was tuned using the HD650 and a lot of the people who have bought it like the pairing together. They lowered the gain on the amp section so they sound better with low impedence cans now too. You might wanna swap the old opamps out because apparently they're pretty crappy. I didn't listen to them too much before I got my new ones so I can't say too many things about them. Going to probably be getting and HD650 soon as well.

Also, I think all and all, the HD600 or 650 best suits the topic creators choice in music. The 325i is a good phone for them too.

Oh, the price for the amp? Hmmm.....I can't help you there now. There are a lot more choices giving your price range. Some good Amp/DAC combos too.
