First of all ~ congratulations on the big woody GS1000i!

My experience from other users is that 100 hours or so should see them open up, but the real

issue at hand is your source and amp, it appears that those who love them tend to have a

very good source, amp and material. Otherwise, they can be quite bloomy in the bass and

shrill up top in the treble.

Thanks

At the moment I am using my iPad and Ray's P-51 Amp. In about a month I will have A Rega Saturn with a Rega ICIS integrated and Ray's XR-7.

I believe my GS1000i's continued to improve past the 100 hour mark with small but noticeable improvements to 200 hours. When fully broken in the bass tightens up, the mids come forward some and the highs smooth out  quite a bit. I do agree with Gwarmi's statment about using a good source, amp and material. I will also add that my setup didn't like bright silver cables and sounds much better with a pair of old Siltech SQ88 classic IC's
