Which full-size (circumaural) headphones have the least clamping force?

I love my HD590 because it rests so lightly on the sides of my head (I have TMJ), and I really like their sound as well, but eventually they will have to be replaced. Can you recommend a "soundalike" open-design headphone that goes light on the clamping force? I'm thinking AT-AD900, but maybe I'm on the wrong track there....

Sounds like you're on the right track with the AD900.  The AD line's frame applies next to no clamping force.

AD900 would be a safe bet if the AD700's anything to go by.

If you've got even more money to spend? Stax Lambda. Very low clamping force, like it just rests on your head more than anything.

The Grado GS1000i has almost no clamping force and is also very light.

AD900's will clamp a bit more tightly than the AD700. AD700 by design is slightly wider, which gives a bit less pressure. AD900's still quite comfortable though.

AKG K240 don't clamp much at all either, and is very comfortable.

All Denons I find have very comfortable clamp. Their non-padded headbands I do have comfort issues with, but clamp is very light and good.

Dunno how the HD590 sound, but the Ad900 are barely noticeable, sometimes I wish I could force them to clamp more, and yes I've tried bending them further in.
