Newbie here, Hi,I have just bought a pair of Alpha SDH-7 vintage headphones (Tokyo, Japan) on ebay for 99p and £1.95 postage and packaging, I have never heard of the company or the headphones, but I loved the look of them. Anyway, as they were so cheap, and look so cool, Iam going to re-wire them, unless they sound fantastic as they are, which I doubt, they havent even arrived yet, anyway, I would like to know from anyone in the know, can you use ordinary speaker cable to re-wire headphones. I have done some surfing for headphone cable on the net and it seems the prices of some of these cables are ridiculously high, any advice would be most welcome. Cheers, Shaun. A picture of said cans should be my avatar if it worked!

Best closed headphones I had heard - very flat response, almost no midrange distortion, very easy to drive (good for portable), good soundstage (definately better than K240), good isolation, but...

Overall excellent buds, very good sound quality, especially for their price, the medium set of tips fits exactly in my ears and provides a near perfect seal. Bass is very detailed, but not...

First, I should note that I auditioned these both straight out of the box, without any break-in time and then later after 53 hours of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite...

Speaker wires are 2-conductor(and headphones need at least 3, 4 preferred). I'd suggest you get Canare L-4E6S(pretty cheap, $0.30-0.50 per foot) and some 3.5/6.3mm plug(Neutrik make great plugs)
