Please give Suggestions: comfortable budget closed over ear

If anyone can tell me what they recommend to buy or stay away from, please share, thanks.

Here's what I'm looking for:

Preferably no more than $35 (but I've seen some major deals on amazon for more expensive headphones priced way down, esp. refurbished)

Comfortable. Want to wear for long periods of times without my head being smashed or ears hurting. Also to be able to easily wear with hats. earbuds end up hurting after long wear. never owned over ear.

Durable, rugged and portable for travel.

Some noise isolation (even with music turned off-- Do not want to hear peoples conversations, but do not want to be sealed off from the world for safety reasons)

Closed. Do not want to bother people around me if i've got it cranked up.

Decent enjoyable listening experience. Listen mostly to electronica. I like bass, but no more than the rest of the tones and melody. I want to notice the bass for the beat, but do not want it to be so bass heavy the melody is overshadowed.

Want to be able to wear with a hat on.

an extra bonus would be if I could swivel the headband with the earpads on still on the ears. either behind me for with a hat, or in front for sleeping/lying down)

Durable, did I say durable? and comfortable.

I've looked at:

Sennheiser HD428

KOSS UR40

JVC HARX700

JVC HAS700

It would be nice (but not required) if they looked sleek and not stupid. I like the look of the Sennheiser HD428.

Question: All those headphones I see with a stretchy headband underneath the hard plastic band, when on your head do they end up touching? or the plastic piece sticks up higher than the stretchy band.

Is it possible to adjust all phones so the earpieces stay put but the headband is not touching or pressing on the top of your head?

If you have some suggestions you think would help me out I'd really appreciate it, THANKS!

 Hey thanks,

I think i'll probably be going with the JVC HAS600B (unless something better pops up). For less than $30 it seems to pack in most of the features that I want. The slim headband doesn't look as durable as the Audio-Technica, but it sure is cheaper and smaller/lighter for travel, plus rave reviews on Amazon.

Had not come across those before. Thanks for your help!

Don't even read those.

Trust me, if anything, on that.

I've enjoyed many Philips headphones in the $30 range in the past.  Had a buddy that had the on ear version of these and not bad, pretty open sounding and balanced.  reminded me of my old HP-550's which I loved.  Mind you, I think he paid $60 for these a while ago, they've come down in price.

There's over-ear versions if you prefer that, haven't heard them though.

I now have the JVC HAS600B Over ear phones. Though much more comfortable than any in-ear buds I've tried, The back of the cans touch on the very end part of my glasses. More of an annoyance/discomfort than pain, but I'm wondering if you have found a way around this problem as I see you wear glasses too. The sound is somewhat strange though still an improvement over my cheap sport-phones, Maybe burn in will improve the sound. Perhaps the glasses could be adjusted to wrap around my ears rather than stick out straight in the back.

I have been curious as to why you suggest not giving any attention to Amazon reviews?
