Hip-hop fans only - Favorite Can

As the title states, what is your favorite headphone for listening to hip-hop (strictly).  Lets put a limit to $400.  Headphone should have good mids for the lyrics, smooth highs and deep, powerful bass.

From my inventory, my Fisher FA-011's where my favorite.  Shure 840's were also a solid contender.

In order....

1. AHD2000's : Cant get over how good the bass is. Amped right they are deep as a well while still being decently tight. Very small amount of bleed over. I'm sure the 5000's would be right here if I  had a pair. frown.gif

2. ATH-M50: Don't go quite as deep as the Denon's, but still enjoyable. Less bleed over and crisper highs.

3. HD-650 : I really like these on olderschool stuff for some reason. I guess the old guys had more put on rhythm than just strait impact. For some reason those tracks just seem to sound more natural with 650's.

Interesting, espeically the 650s, then again, they're great headphones period.  I'd think the M50's would have the same issues my 580's had, and thats suffering in the mids.  Always felt like the beat was in front of the emcee.

I know the 650 thing is a little weird, but Flash, Treacherous Three and Fab Five just sound so good on them. L3000.gif

I think with any bass heavy can your going to have suffering in the mids, but I dont think the M50's are that bad, at least not to my ears. Paired with any of my bright-ish amps and they sound pretty decently defined to me. MK III goes pretty well with it me thinks.
