In search for the perfect basshead cans <3

Hello all,

So i've been doing some reseach for quite some time now, and I need your assistance head-fi. I am in search for the perfect basshead cans. =D After doing countless hours of research, I have narrowed it down to these choices. Though, I am still open for suggestions.

- Ultrasone HFI-580

- Audio Technica PRO700MK2

- Sony XB500/700 (not really sure which is better)

I listen to a lot of electronica/EDM music so bass is definitly a must. As you can see, I would like to keep it around the $150 price mark, and I would prefer something that is easily driven. I don't have funds for an amp right now.

Heya,

Panasonic HTF600 or XB500 would be the way to go for less money (~$50).

If you wanna spend $150, the HFI 580 would do the job and then you also have the option of the DT770 PRO. I would lean more towards the DT770 myself. But that's merely my preference (cup size, velour pads, nicer look).

Very best,

I did a little research on the DT770's and most people stated that it requires an amp, and I currently don't have funds for one. :[

hmmm, how would you compare the XB500 to the XB700?

Save your money on the XB series and only get the XB500. Simply bump the mids & treble up a few dB on the equalizer and you're set. Or get an HTF600 and don't equalize for the same effect. Easy. Inexpensive.

Very best,
