ATH M50 with Shure SRH 840 pads

I know i am responsible with flooding the forums with countless threads about the m50's but i hope this is the last one.

I have owned the audio technica ATH M50 for about 3 weeks now but still dissatisfied with the comfort, i've heard the SRH 840 pads fit the M50s but would they be worth it?

What i need to know:

How much more/less comfortable are they compared to the pads on the M50

Are the pads softer than the ones on the M50

Will they effect the M50s sound quality, leakage, etc...

Are they worth the 20-40

Thank you.

If the 840's pad fit them, go for it, I find them very comfortable, and have great isolation

let me give it a try right now and see.

Ok this is my impressions.

The sound quality is much improved and smoothed out.

They are a little big but they still fit. The comfort is way better.

I say go for it.

I agree.  Try the thread linked below.

http://www.head-fi.org/t/414574/velour-felt-pads-for-ath-m50/60

The pads used there are velour pads from the Beyerdynamic DT 250.  The pads on my M50's are starting to get kind of hard and I assume they will eventually degrade to the point of needing replacement.  I will more than likely be trying out the DT 250 pads at that point.
