Outstanding cans for certain, provided that you are fine with its comfort level. Found its headband pressure a bit too much for me, but that doesn't seem to be that big of a problem for most people.

I used to think the srh840  was harsh. Now after trying a few different sets of headphones i realize they aren't. Compared to the srh840 the m50 is very harsh. If it's your first headphone and your not bothered by harshness they will be fine. I'm generally fine with them but some people wouldn't. Overall technicality wise the shure srh840 is a much better headphone.
