I would use the search function but my internet crashes every time I try and use it. I think its due to my slow internet. I'm deployed overseas so please bear with me, thanks.
Anyways, I just recently purchased the AKG Q701s. I like the headphones. They sound way better then any other set of headphones I have ever owned. Granted these are also my first pair of high dollar cans. I bought them with the intentions of listening to them while riding around in helicopters, planes, using them in my room, at work, just anywhere and every where. My only problem with them is that they leak really bad. I had read the reviews and figured they would leak a little bit, no big deal. I don't like my music really loud, I normally use a loudness in the middle and the people in the room with me can still hear everything I'm listening to word for word. I can't tell but they say its annoying and that they don't want me to use them at work. Is this a common issue with them or just mine. I expected them to leak, just not like this. Thanks in advance.

Overall excellent buds, very good sound quality, especially for their price, the medium set of tips fits exactly in my ears and provides a near perfect seal. Bass is very detailed, but not...

I'll keep this very short. They are very smooth sounding. Treble toned down so not so good for rock but have a magic about them that makes them better than mark 2. I use them with a '89/'90...

First, I should note that I auditioned these both straight out of the box, without any break-in time and then later after 53 hours of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite...

They definitely leak. They're quite open - it's just part of their design.
I would seek out a pair of closed headphones.

Unfortunately the AKG Q701 is more or less a pair of open speakers attached to your head..
A good thing! But not in your case..
"I bought them with the intentions of listening to them while riding around in helicopters, planes,"
You need active noise cancellers pronto, Sennheiser appear to be leading the field in this area,
My suggestion for you would be the Sennheiser PXC-310
I've used noise canceling a little bit, but I just feel weird not being able to really hear anything really loud thats going on around me or someone yelling something at me. We do have aviation head sets that are pretty decent with noise canceling that you can plug into the helicopter and also plug in an outside music source and switch back and fourth from, I just ordered some. I'm looking for a set of head phones I can use everywhere without annoying the people around me. I feel rude. What would be some good closed back headphones? I'm still keeping the AKGs , but I'd like to find a pair that I'm really the only one who can hear them. Thanks for the input.

Shure 840 if you like a balanced presentation that does not favor either end of the spectrum, not too
bassy or too shrilly up in the treble. Good all rounder.
Ultrasone 580 is if you like a more pop biased sound that will work well with most modern releases
with a thumping beat. It's not a basshead's can but the prominent bass impact is there, good for
rock also.
Both will run out of any portable device eg, phone or i-device.

Plenty of good closed headphones out there - not only closed, but closed with good attenuation of outside sound (i.e. "isolation").
I recommend using the search function here and look at some of the buying guides people have done.
You can get good sounding closed headphones which isolate well starting at about $65.00
Some suggestions:
Sony MDR V6
Shure 840
Audio Technica ATH-M50
Sennheiser HD 25 I II
Sony MDR Z1000
