Best way to connect Audio Gd NFB-12 to macbook pro?

Hey, I'm going to be buying this DAC/AMP this week and want to know what would be advised for the cleanest/best sounding connection:

USB

Coaxial

Optical

Also, can you let me know if there are any additional cables/adaptors I will need to buy to hook it all up. Thanks in advance.

The optical from the MB Pro gets mixed reviews, but does support a higher resolution output than the USB, so that gets my vote. You would only need to get one optical mini to toslink cable - something like this from monoprice (great bang for the buck - high build quality/price): http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10229&cs_id=1022902&p_id=1556&seq=1&format=2

Barring that, just go straight USB (A male -> B male). Trying to do a USB>Coax converter seems unnecessary.

I go MacBook Pro > NFB-12 via optical with no problems. In my experience, the issues surrounding Toslink output are overblown... especially when dealing with a $200 amp/dac combo.

My recommendation is to use a mini to Toslink cable (like the one mentioned above) and to avoid the mini adapters, which I've had make poor connections and even break entirely. If you go Monoprice, I'd recommend ordering two cables, since in my experience Monoprice cables have a 10%-20% DOA rate. They're cheap enough that you just order an extra and toss them if they're bad.
