Blue Hawaii vs Aristaeus with Stax MK 2

Hello, 

I am looking for a amp for my Stax MK2 (have been using now for a year Stax 323-II !) and I have difficulty to find anyone who heard both Aristaeus and Blue Hawaii. Would appreciate any thoughts. I know there is a old threat on that subject, but precisely, it is a old one! I am referring to the newly available Aristeaus (not the one which was made many years ago -- or are they the same?) and to the Blue Hawaii SE.

And how about the WES by Woo Audio? Is there any comparison?

While I have not heard the Aristeaus but I have compared the Blue Hawaii with WooAudio WES and I prefer the WES over the Blue Hawaii because of the bigger and liver soundstage of the WES at the RMAF show in October. WooAudio also has anohter cheaper Electrostatic Amp model the GES.  I used to have three Stax headphones at one time.

Thanks John. I assume that it should be possible to hear the WES somewhere in NYC, no?

You will find that many have different opinions on which amp sounds better. You might ask in the Woo fourm which is quite active if anyone has a WES in NYC that you can demo a bit or check the For sale ads as well. i had he90 with Aristeaus. thought that he90 can use more power than just Aristeaus.

but if it is just O2 or he60, i think Aristeaus would be just great.

 

GES is also a good amp. but not like WOW!

never heard WES. came out after id sold all elecs headphones.

Why not contact Jack of Woo audio direct for a audition as they are based in Queens.
