Best home headphones sub 200$

Hello everyone,

I like many else found myself in trouble choosing the best headphones for me.

I am looking good headphones under 200$.

I will use them for listening music ( mostly rock, metal, hip hop...sometimes other genres as well)

It doesn't matter for me if they are open or closed because i will use them in my room so whichever are better :)

Could you people who are more experienced that me help me out?

I was looking on something like Sennheiser hd515 or hd558, or maybe AKG 242HD or is out there anything better?

PS: i currently using Sennheiser HD201 (wasn't really impressed with it, but for the money they're not bad), but they can be used as reference :)

thanks

For your stated genres, Grado SR 80i, with the Bowl pads.

Heya,

If you can wear on-ear, the Grado SR60i with Lcush Pads would be a great start.

A Sennheiser HD598 could be good for you too (it's only $173 at Amazon right now new).

Fischer Audio FA-002w is another big contender if you're willing to wait for it to ship.

Many, many other choices, but without knowing your preferences in sound, the list would just keep going.

Very best,

Senn HD518!

The best all-rounder I've ever heard. At this moment I prefer them over my O2mk2s. I'm serious. Good speed, detail, bass impact/quantity/control (better bass than HD650!) although not "high-end" instrument separation (which is not so important for modern genres).

Id say DT440 in open or DT250 80 ohm in closed. Probably the DT440 overall since I think open sound better.

Very best,

Well i prefer clear sound, with slightly more bass than normal. Because that way music i listen sounds better to me.

If i can say like that i  would like more bass than on my current HD201 and even clearer sounds.
