Beats By Dre Opinion

In all honesty, by owning 2 pairs of Tour Beats and 1 pair of Studio Beats, they are infact overpriced. However, the quality isnt as bad as you guys say. Sure the bass is overpowering but over all the clarity is awesome. Now, speaking about fake beats, i honestly believe your getting a good deal. For $40 your getting pretty good quality, the look and good rep with your friends. Either wayits a win win. But I'm almost positive that there are infact much better headphones out there. Im just sayin.

Welcome to Head-fi!

May I ask what else you've heard to compare for clarity? While I'll admit the Beats are pretty decent for the music it's made for, as long as the music doesn't have any low bass, which the Studios seriously lack in. My $5 pair of Kosses are clearer than the Studios.

We prefer not to talk about fakes because, well, you should know why. wink_face.gif "Rep" really isn't something that should matter though when it comes to the stuff you buy...

And I really don't want to be "that guy," but there are a ridiculous amount of Beats threads here already.

Most of us say it's overpriced. Head-Fi members have gone over this a numerous amount of times, no need to start another thread about Beats every week.

I say you sell your studios, get a pair of used Denon D2000s, or if you wanna save Ultrasone HFI-780s, or if you really want clarity I'd say some sennheiser HD 598s. THEN decide how clear your beats are. However fake beats are pretty cool to show off.

They definitely look the part and I don't see people willing to be in public with headphones other than the Beats or Skullcandy's. I have a lot of coworkers with Beats but we also have AKG's, Denon's, Shure's, Grado's, Audio-Technica's, Sennheiser's, Beyerdynamic's, and Skullcandy's floating around. The Beats don't own sound quality over any headphone in the office that cost at least $150, but they do look the coolest to our techie eyes.

Conclusion, nobody would shell out their own cash for these things, but they're very common because they often make it into incentive packages that get handed out.

Fake Beats? Are you for real? And they get you respect from friends? blink.gif

Now only if someone would make fake LCD-3s... tongue.gif

How to simulate the Beats:

1. Stuff a cotton ball or two into each ear.

2. Turn on a crappy old FM clock radio to a station playing rap.

3. Get an old bass drum, preferably with one loose/damaged head. Thump the drum along with the music.

If you can get the bass drum cheap, this could cost less than a pair of Beats.

Most users here will give you crap about the beats (mostly because they have a terrible price to quality ratio) but they are in fact, not THAT bad. Especially the studios. They look fantastic to boot!

my brother has beats pro and thinks that it is the best in the world, but his still in highschool so what he thinks doesn't really matter especially since he hasn't compared it against other quality headphones out there. in my opinion, my hd280 sounds way better and i couldn't wear the beats pro for more than 30 minutes. they look great and bass is pretty good but that's about it.
