Best $200-$250 Headphones For Rock Music

Looking to purchase some new cans for ~<$250. Bass isn't a huge factor (I'd like it to be decent though) considering I listen to mostly rock (Rise Against, Three Days Grace, RHCP, Breaking Benjamin, Avenged Sevenfold, Rage ATM, Led Zeppelin, Black Keys), although I do listen to some acoustic like Mumford & Sons. Because of the environments I'll be in, closed phones would be best.

I'd recommend the Grado SR225i for that price range if you music taste is just rock.

Edit: I didn't see that you prefer closed headphones. So the Grado is out of the question.

Take a look at the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro

What source(s) will these headphone be plugged into.

Headphone wise

Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro 250-Ohm, needs a headphone amplifier.

But You should be able to get both for $220-$250.

On eBay, you can get single tube headphone amplifier starting at $55, ships from China, takes 10 days.

They'll be plugged into an Android phone. I'll be using them on buses and the like so I won't be able to use an amp.

CALs (Creative Aurvana Live), way under your budget.

I’d say Sennhesier HD 25 1-II. if you were using them in a quiet environment and not around lots of other people, I’d recommend a Grado instead.

HD 25-1 II's for all your closed headphone needs.  Great with with rock and electronica.

Skullcandy uprock and spend the $200 left over on a guitar, jeans, sunglasses and leather jacket.

Live dangerously ~ Grado's are worth putting up with the open niggles that come along with ownership of such cans.

Sennheiser 25-1 II if you want closed.

Grado 225i's if you can deal with open. (325i's if you can find a bargain/used)

The AiAiAi TMA-1 is another option. Its small, sealed, and very sensitive like the HD25. Its darker and has more bass than the HD25, a good option if you like a warmer and darker sound.

Heya,

M80 & ESW9 if you want closed & portable with serious style.

Grado, otherwise.

Very best,
