Hi,

Maybe a silly question but I just can't believe I am so unlucky as to buy two faulty pairs of headphones.

I have a Panasonic Viera TV and was using the following headphones connected to the headphones out on the TV:

1. KOSS Pro/4AAT - left speaker lost a sound after a little over a year - KOSS operates life time limited warranty so got a replacement

While I was waiting for the replacement to arrive I bought

2. KG K271-MKII and used it with the same TV for 11 months - now the sound is all flat out and even garbled - screeching sound - I thought it's a cable so exchanged it but it did not help - tried it in diferent sources, no help so arranged a return.

In addition my old Aiwa HP-X222 which I was using with this TV in the past have completely flat sound and some kind of hissing in higher frequencies so I think the TV headphones output is a culprit.

What do you think?

Any suggestions how to protect my headphones from being fried?

If I use an headphones amp (was looking for something simple and cheap like btech bt928) connected to the TV headphones out will I protect them (and enhance the sound at the same time) or will I fry the amp as well?

Thanks for your thoughts.
