New DAC/Amp combo

Thread Starter

Hi guys,

Just wondering what are my options for a portable DAC/Amp combo to do double duty as a portable amp as well as a DAC. Currently I've only seen these few:

  1. FiiO E7
  2. FiiO E17 (upcoming)
  3. iBasso D-Zero
  4. Leckerton UHA-4

Anyone used them and has any idea how different/better they sound? (excluding the unreleased E17, of course) If there are any options I'll be welcome to hear them.

Thanks guys!

I am listening to the Senn. HD-800 from the  HP-P1 line out into my Yamamoto HA-02 using lossless files on my iPod 4 Touch.  Nice.

I also have the Pico Amp/Dac and it is nice as well.

Given that you main sources are the iPods, the Fostex HP-P1 should be your first choice in my opinion.

I'm considering that but price is a HUGE issue for me here. Over here HP-P1 is like 600 SGD, something I can't really afford. One thing is that I'm not using any high impedance cans, so an extremely powerful amp isn't a need here, though of course it'd be a welcome investment.
