Blackberry Playbook - Page 2

I tried one out, and as much as I like it, the fact it's not getting the support it should is the reason I'll NOT recommend it. I thought it ran smooth, had a killer screen, was really responsive, and loaded the web pages wonderfully. But, I'm not taking another chance on unsupported (and I mean 100% support) devices after the HP Touchpad I had. I'm not gonna "wait" for CyanogenMOD to be ready. I want the device to function NOW the way I expect it to,...and the BB Playbook can't even do email right. BLAH!!! FAIL!!!

Android or iOS,...all the others ATM are has been wannabe's,...PASS!!!

It's a shame too,as I planned on getting this when it first came out - now I have an iPad 2 64GB and the whole FAMILY is happy.

why do you even need a tablet when a smart phone does it all plus more.

Some people prefer the simplicity and mobility of a tablet. Some people prefer the combo smartphone & laptop, some people prefer huge desktop tower and no smartphone. That's why it's cool, everyone can choose what he wants and buy products that will fit his tastes/needs.

I have a nook color which I use as a tablet + ebook reader as well as a smart phone. Both have their uses and while the smart phone is very capable it does also have a very small screen for things such as reading books. There are a good amount of apps for reading so that does not limit yourself to products such as the Nook, Kindle, etc. Also I use the tablet as a netbook replacement since I basically was just listening to music and surfing the web and that's pretty much what my nook color does as well as play some games when I'm on the bus or subway. All in all I find both to have their purposes and useful for me at least.

None of you would care about tablets if apple didn't release the ipad. Marketing is marketing and you all fell victim to it. My laptop cost the same as a tablet and i can do way more.

If a tablet costs more then $250 it's to expensive.

Actually I was going to buy a tablet BEFORE the original Ipad came out (I forget the model) or one of those transforming original tablets where it was a laptop that you could flip and use as a tablet. Apple is almost never the originator they just know how to make a good idea great. I still think $500 for a very big Ipod touch is insane. That being said I bought a Toshiba Thrive this weekend (mostly cause it was really cheap), and I own a lot of apple products (so not an Apple hater or something)

The toshiba thrive actually looks decent. I like toshiba products and it has a removable battery. I may in the future buy one but who knows. If it had more then 64gb of space i would consider it.
