Help decide between UE Triple fi 10 or UE 4 Pro

As the name says I am trying to decide between the UE Triple fi 10 or UE 4 Pro. I see good reviews on each of these products, and each cost the same. From the specs I see the Triple Fi 10 have 3 armatures whereas the UE 4 Pros have only 2 armatures.. Am I sacrificing sound quality for a custom fit? Has anyone tried both of them?

I plan to use them for general listening with an iPod while in the office, and for recording and stage monitors. I'm a drummer.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I've lurked around the forums and it seems that the JH5 is the way to go. By the way, imho, if the UE4 a custom IEM has better SQ than the TF10, wouldn't Jerry price it at $5/600 instead?

I haven't heard UE4 but I think TF10 would sound a bit better.

UE4 is on the neutral and balanced side.  UE5 is a bit more robust with a bit more headroom.  When Jerry Harvey started his own business, his JH5 was suppose to be an improved version of UE5.  JH5 was originally priced at $550 so at $399 it is a great bang for buck custom.

i cant recommend the TF10.

The cable is heavy and hard. the fit is horrible. apart from that they´re pretty good

They maybe the same list price, but you can get the TF10 from Amazon for ~$200 and once a year for $100.  I maybe wrong, but it looks like you can only get the UE4Pro from Logitech for msrp.

Really?  I thought that was only done 1 time a few years back?

I read they aren't doing the deal this year, but I got a pair for 150 and then spent 100 bucks getting the 10's made into customs..that is always an option too.

maybe "once a year" was a bit of a leap, but they've done it twice, each of the last two years.  In any case, its still half of what the UE 4Pro is.

Yea, that's a great deal.  I need to watch for it this year.

What about the Triple Fi 10s having three armatures vs. the two in either the UE4 Pro or the JH-5s... Would the three not provide a better sound quality? Am I paying more just to have th custom product and sacrificing on sound?

More drivers doesn't mean better sound quality. And yes, you are definitely paying more for a custom product. I asked a friend of mine who had both the JH5 and TF10. He said that JH5 ($399, dual BA) sound overall much better than the TF10 but he liked the bass better on the TF10. Why are you sticking with the UE4?

Yea, why are you considering UE4?

I guess after more in depth reviews the UE 4 Pros are out, howver now I am wondering about the 1964T Triple drivers ones... Any new thoughts from everyone?
