ATH CK100 with iPhone?

I'm searching for a new pair of IEMs and my eyes are on ATH CK100, I'm looking for high quality and great sound and the CK100 fits the budget and type of IEM I'm looking for.

A small problem is that all the reviews say that it's very sensitive to the source it's connected to, and I have no idea on how to interpret that... Will it for instance sound horrible connected to an iPhone? And would it be so bad that it's worse than an IEM in the, say, $100 range?

Would the Etymotic ER-4P be a better choice?

I wouldn't really worry about it; iphone 4 is actually a very good sounding dap and universal iems are not that source sensitive and should be easily driven by the iphone.

Iphone has pretty good sound quality as mentioned above.  ER4P needs amped to sound at its best..

The CK100 willbe work fine with iPhone 4 or 4s but it's depend which iPhone model you are using and not all iPhone model sounds great.

The iPhone 4 is actually a great source. It should be a fine pairing.

3GS>4>4S I'll say don't need an amp at all. They're clean, no-noise and flat better than a lot of amps out there.

Thanks guys, sometimes a second opinion makes the difference... ATH CK100 it is.

The CK1000 is a hit or miss though, you'll either hate or love it.

I've had all iPhone models and they all sound exactly the same. Excellent source.

Inks, how much of an improvement is the 4S over the 4? I have the 4 and it's resolution is quite a bit better than the 3GS

Yeah the 4 is a bit better than the 3GS. The 4S is pretty much identical to the 4, but it's slightly worse at very low impedance IEMs. For all-purposes I'll say they're the same, but some slight difference may be there at driving something very low ohm like the FXT90 or ClarityOne.

I've got to sell my ATH CK100. It's good with Iphone but not my musical style.
