Ugly noise - are my tubes broken?

Hi

My Stax SRM T1 amp does some ugly noises and im not sure wheter a change of the tubes would solve the issue or not.
Since I'm from Switzerland, not only my english is on the dark side, also fixing my AMP natively is quite impossible.
I've checked everything else, it must be the amp.

I don't have any experience with tubes but there are some characteristics that could identify the bad part:

The noise sounds a bit like vinyl or no radio signal and it's not affected by the volume control. I can hear it at zero volume as loud as at max volume.
The noise appear mainly on the left channel, only rarely on the right channel.
Changing the in- or ouput slot doesn't fix the problem.
Only heating up the amp doesn't really cause the noise or at least not with that impact.
The noise itself is irregular, there is nothing repetitively.
Apart from that, the left channel is not affected by lesser sound quality.

I also have to admit that lately i cut off the power on the SRM T1 in running mode. No idea if that is bad or not.

Thanks for any input that helps identify the causer of the noise, thats driving me crazy.

Have you biased the amp recently? I would try that first.

If the amp is biased correctly and it still doesn't sound right I would replace the tubes.

Note! When you replace the tubes you absolutely must bias the amp, so I would definitely make sure the amp is biased first.
