Throw the stock tips away. Get some Comply foam tips. If they are not seated correctly it completly changes the sound. Once in the right posistion they are really great. Not for working out though, too heavy.

Which Comply tips fit these? (Nothing listed on Comply's web page of course.) Btw, is it just me or does the sound stage sound kinda narrow on the Monos?

400 or 500

T-400 or S-400, same ones that fit most. S seem to stay in longer but less comfy.

I joined the club!  I was doomed from the start though since the week before they arrived I was able to borrow some Westone 3's and fell in love with them.  Most of my headphone listening is done with Koss KSC-75s, and Sennheiser HD-280 Pro.   I'm new to  IEM use, but i know fit has a lot to do with sound and comfort.  Unfortunately the Monoprice 8320 won't stay in my ears for more than 10 seconds!  I'm not sure if i have small or large ears, etc...  Is there a standard for measuring, or is it a trial and error thing?  I tried diy foam tips from hearos earplugs, but those didn't seem to work well for me either, the hole kept getting pinched shut... I ordered some Comply 400 tips, hopefully I can get a usable fit with those.  I was hoping the 8320s would give me good isolation and decent sound for mowing the lawn. (my senn's are great, but bulky)  Hopefully getting a good fit improves the sound.  So far, these don't even compare to the sound quality from the $16 Koss KSC-75s (i have several pairs of those).  For somebody looking for a decent portable where IEM isolation isn't as important, i'd go with the Koss every time...  I plan on reporting back with an update after my Comply tips arrive... 

 

I have the same problem. It's definitely trial and error. I got into IEMs a few years ago, and it took me a couple years of experimenting before I finally found how to keep a seal for long.

 

Everyone's different, but I eventually found that I can only use IEMs with a straight barrel design that allows me to insert them deep into my ears - otherwise they pop out literally every 5-10 minutes. I also have to wear IEMs with the strain relief pointing up, since the part where the cord comes out usually prevents me from inserting them as deeply as they need to go for me to keep a seal.

 

That's why I never bothered trying the monoprices - I know that I have very specific needs when it comes to IEM design, and these look like the exact opposite of that.

I recently did. I loved the sound of the 8320, but like you could never get them to fit. I just got the Vsonic GR04 Flagship for ~$50, it's being discontinued, used to sell for much more. Anyway, I love it, very balanced, insane imaging, not too much bass. Anyway, you weren't asking me, but that's my two cents. I have been very impressed with all of the VSonic line-up, but the lower-end ones are a bit bass-heavy for my liking.

i gave up with these Mp 8320, third pair + Comply tips..still having issues with fitment. problem with me is that angle and size of the nozzle makes a dificult fitment in my ears if they could only make a few changes on the design of these iem`s .

Love the sound with Comply tips. Could use a tad more bass. Problem is they are open or semi-open and at the gym that's not a good thing. Good for quiet enviroment.

I absoutly love these headphones. They fit me perfectly withe the IE8 double flange tip. It boggles my mind as to how they get these to sound this good fir $7.11. Wow! The only thing I would add to these is more tips and a diagram showing how to wear them, it's a bit akward.

I need an odd favor from US users. Can someone tell me (if you still have it) how big in size is the shipment package and how much it weights?
For shipment size and weight I mean the all thing that came to the mail originally: package + earphones box + earphones.

So Far, Monoprice has stood behind their products, but Yes, their quality is not the greatest, but their warranty and customer service is first class...

 

I purchased a pair of 8320s 2 months back.  Sound quality was superior for an $8 pair of IEM, actually they were superior to all of the $40 buds I have wasted money on in the past.  After about 100 hrs of use/abuse, I found that one of the small mesh-like filters that sits on top of the shaft between the earbud and the inner driver fell out.  This kind of sucked for me, because I was really enjoying the 8320s up to this point.  The lack of this filter, was immediately noticeable, so I had to contact Monoprice.

 

When I sent them my initial complaint, they were apologetic and sent me a USPS Return Authorization ASAP and asked me to send them back for a return.  Very few questions asked.....

 

So Yeah, the quality is not that of a $100 pair of Grado or Senn IEM's, but Monoprice as a company stands behind their product more so than any company I have come across.  

 

I recently had a problem with my DJ Style Over-Ear Monprice 8323's and they immediately acknowledged the problem and sent me a replacement within two days...You would think that the lower price you pay, the crappier the service would be, but this is not the case with Monoprice.  They truly have a first class customer support organization.  

 

Despite any quality issues, the Monoprice brand is legit and my latest approach is to buy a few extra pairs of 8320's so I  have a back-up on hand.  Since they stand behind their products, I feel that I am far ahead of the game.  

Take a pair of your IEMs, put them in a ziplock bag and that's it. No box, no packaging, no extra tips, no instructions, just a small plastic bag with the IEMs inside that could fit in the palm of your hand. As far as shipment boxes go, I'm not sure what they'd put them in because I ordered a couple pair along with some cables and other stuff. You could call and ask though, their customer service is top notch.

 

Basically anything with a simple straight barrel design. The Nuforce NE-7 are perfect for me - I just have to put on a biflange tip and then insert them with the strain relief pointing up. The XKDUN CK-700s have an ideal design for me too.

 

The key to me is inserting IEMS with the strain relief pointing up, so I can wedge the headphones deep into my ears without the strain relief hitting my earlobes and preventing the IEM from going in deep enough to keep a seal. But this can be problematic with certain types of IEMS, if they don't have something solid to grip when I want to pull them out. The Nuforce NE-700X work well for me, but they're difficult to remove because I have to gently pull them out by the cord.

 

Deep insertion is a problem with certain IEMs though - wedging them that deeply into my ear tends to accentuate the bass a lot, and in some cases it makes them sound overly bassy and muffled.
