Sony hybrids work well with them. I get a good seal.

So I just joined head-fi and I also just recieved my 8320's 6 days before I expected them.  What a pleasant surprise!  I threw on a pair of Jlab double flange tips on them and the sound is excellent.  I hardly had to equalize them, they're reasonably neutral.  Really glad I found this thread, after reading a few of the first pages I ordered them from amazon (cheaper shipping).  The best part about these headphones is that if I break them, I won't cry over eight bucks.  I knew they weren't gonna sound like 100 dollar IEM's but they sure as hell sound better than the Monster Beats Tours!  I really dig the way they look too.

Try tape mod on 8320's along with comply tips, and you will find some bass.

Got mine yesterday and am burning them in. Wasn't too impressed right out of the...er...bag. Really tough to position these right and find tips that don't absolutely kill my ears after a few minutes. I finally tipped them way back and down to get them into my ear right and with some foam tips they are more comfy and there is definitely plenty of bass. Haven't tried the tape mod yet. Sound pretty good for 7 bucks. I'm A/B ing them with some Pany RPHJE355's I got yesterday as well. I can say that low end iem's have come a LONG way.

I think I've found a way to make these Monoprices sit nicely in my ears.

Instead of using the stock tips or medium size Sony tips, I tried using the large Sony tips.
The large tips don't fit me at all: They're far too large for/wide my ear canals... So instead of getting deep insertion, I've fit them like I would an earbud [not canalphones]. That way they just sit on the outer canal, and when a seal is achieved, the housing needn't be touching my ears... which is nice, I think.

The problem I had with the Monoprices' fit is that, (a) I can always feel the earphones are on (the housing touches my ear.. in an uncomfortable way), and (b) the earphones always fall out of my ears. The large Sony tips alleviate both problems rather well. I can easily forget I have the earphones on (albeit the microphonics are always ever-present), and the earphones stay on and the tips seal well.

There are little to none audible differences in sound... but I can't be sure. The differences in sound are far less significant than that of comfort for sure.
I do feel that the sound does get better by a small margin, though. I've always felt a slight oddness in the sound of the Monoprices (which I described as "perpetually unthick" in another thread), and that's lessened somewhat... I guess. It's hard to be sure. After all, that "oddness" I was hearing could be the effect of a poor seal, right?
 

Don't get the large Sony tips for "better" sound, that's my recommendation. The sound remains the same for the most part. BUT, the comfort/fit/seal is far better now.
With the stock tips (and medium size Sony tips), getting the 8320s to seal was a salty pain in the places I wouldn't like salty pains.

They hurt me so bad, I may try this. I've more or less given up on them, but maybe one last ditch effort...

A pack of Sony hybrids gets you four pairs of tips... for around $9. Not necessarily something I'd recommend broadly for application on $7 earphones. wink.gif
The size I'm using should be the one with teal/light emerald/limestone tubing, assuming the Sony hybrids and the tips that came with my Walkman bundles are identical.

The Walkman bundles are the Sony MDR-EX85s, I believe...
