But which ones would you recommend getting, GR06 or Xears ones? How is bass in GR06? Soundstage? Fit?

The XE200PRO would be the closest in terms as qualities from the ones I own.  The fit (with guides and proper tips), bass, soundstage (as it relates to iems) is great on the GR06s.  After owning the XE200PRO for a little while, I finally found some tips that would make them fit better from the Monster sampler pack.

I just finished listening to a little Black Rose Immortal on the GR06s and I am exhausted...lol....A wonderful 20 minutes indeed that my right nozzle is loose.  The GR06s also have an adjustable nozzle but I can't seem to tighten it up.

I posted this in the GR07 thread as well hoping someone can lead me in the right direction to tighten it.

Need a little help from you experts here and that have had them for a while.  The GR06s also have an adjustable nozzle, which is great, however, I can't seem to tighten the right one.  It just moves all around.  Once it's in my ear it's not a problem since it does not move.  I looked at my left one as well as my GR07s and they are tight.  I don't know if you just screw it in, since there is like a ball joint attached to the housing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So you are saying that GR06 are better than xe200pro in every aspect, right? Are GR06 Bass oriented or more into mid-range? And also how are the vocals? GR06 sounds alot worse than GR07? Sorry to hear about your problem, too bad can't help anyhow.

Canceled order for my Xears ultraphile, I thinking I am going to buy GR07 instead.

Seems like the accessory package and resemblance to the gr07 in build and appearance already screams bang for buck.

Thanks gduck.  The plunge was awesome indeed....The $60 & under iem market is crazy and that's great for us.  So many to choose from.  The GR06s for the price are just incredible.  I don't know if the competition has heard these yet, hopefully not...lol......I'll go out and say it- best $58 I have spent on audio (not including some awesome 6SN7 tubes I once purchased...Lol).....Given their sound, accessories, fit, comfort etc......Win, Win...!!!

Per our PMs, I think you are headed in the right direction.....

Well, my afternoon was filled with some GR06 & R04Pro love indeed.  I enjoyed them tremendously.  They can really pack a punch with music.  Nothing tiresome or fatiguing, just music....

When it came to the big boy (GR07), I grabbed a portable amp (Practical Devices XM5) and then thought, wait a minute....I paid $160 for you and you want to be 50ohm...Hmmm, I think you want to swim with the big boys.  It included an adapter, so might as well get my $$$'s worth..lol..A little tube love for you then...

Plugged them into my LDI+ tube hybrid amp, fitted with LT1364 opamps & Sylvania Gold Brand 408A tubes, along with my iPod Classic 7G with all lossless files via lineout...Great combo indeed....

At first, I was expecting the tube power "hum" with iems....But alas, nooooooo...No hum, black backround and lovely music pouring out....Bass is tight and these things scale damn well with amplification....The clarity and depth has increased as well as refinement...A whole 'nother level.....

Now, this would not be a portable solution, and I did not buy them for this purpose, but it's good to know, if need be they can hang with desktop amps....Might plug them into my desktop with a DAC tomorrow to see how it goes, but overall very satisfied in becoming a VSONIC fan....

Cheers!!!   beerchug.gif

I'm one of those people who listens to the GR07 much more from a desktop setup than from portable, simply because it scales so well. Have fun with it.

Great info, HeatFan12wink.gif

One thing I wanted to ask you, is about the earguides. I can see you have the larger ones on your GR06 and GR07 (like mine), and the thinner ones on the GR04. Which ones do you find more confortable? I know it all depends on each person outer ear shape, but I don't find those larger model very confortable in my case, particularly the left one... rolleyes.gif

HeatFan I love your threads!  I've just pulled the trigger on the GR06, if anyone in the UK is interested they are @ Frogbeats for £32 delivered...they also have the GR07 for £105.  I was going to post here before buying but last time I did that they were sold out when I went back LOL!

Would like some more impressions, especially compared to TDIII.  I got burned by the 2 Xears models I bought, however the XSR's were universally panned so I realise they were just not a good set to go for.  I was still temped to get the TDII's until I saw these.

I will get around to getting the FA Eterna's but these were such a steal I couldn't resist.  If anyione has the Eterna and GR06 or GR07 I would love to hear your thoughts.

Great that you bring that up.  I like the thinner ones a bit better.  Not only are they lighter, but the cable slit is on the inside and goes towards the inside (towards head), whereas the bigger ones are slit in the center (top).  Not a big deal, they are both comfortable though.

Hey NF...Thanks very much!!!.....beerchug.gif

I remember your dilemma with Xears.  I think you will enjoy the GR06.  I told nipit via PM that I might get a backup pair.  All three are just great imo.  When you take the bang for buck scenario, the GR06s are a great deal.

Picked up the GR06's - Really, and I mean really enjoying their sound at the moment -

One problem though - Who at Vsonic decided to REMOVE the chin slider!?!?!?!?!

I dislike using the ear guide on the GR07's and these, but without a chin slider they're almost impossible to keep over my ear! mad.gif

Hey wait....WTF I've just checked on the pictures posted and they have a chin slider?! Mine don't? cool.gif

Varley how would you compare GR06 to FXT90 & to GR07?

I'm full of flu so haven't really been listening enough or loud enough (migraine) to A/B them - I'd say the GR06 shares some characteristics of the GR07' - It just lacks some realism with instruments, separation is not as good either - One thing that's really impressing me is the bass of these, it's very quick and impactful - Even at low volumes

I'll do some better listening once my flu has gone. frown.gif

Great to hear you are enjoying them Varley...beerchug.gif

In reference to the chin slider, all three of mine have them...That's weird...I wore them without the guides for a while and without the chin slider pulled up the cable would not stay put behind the ear.
