Finally i received my Vsonics. I wanted 06 but had some problems with payment so had to order 04 pro updated (for 50$, not flagship).
So let's start my first product review.
First - before burning in - the sound is just awful. After more than 50 hours of burn with Tara labs burn in disk i couldn't recognize my IEMs.
So first about the sound.
Bass is strong. It's not much of it by default, but rockbox equalizer makes a miracle in the range of 80 hz - they give just earthquacking bass. And it's quiet fast and doesn't harm any other frequencies. And they can give much more than Sennheiser cx270 in comparison. Also i had a possibility to compare with Brainwavz m3 - anyway last are better. Bass it just right on it's place. All the time i can hear not just "boom" but i hear the kick and the bass guitar very clear and separately. But m3 are twice more expencive. So 04 pro i consider as great for 50$.
Mid. When i listen to quiet songs of Rammstein - his rough voice sounds so close and clear and just like vocalist stands right in front of me. It's just awesome. Details are good too. I heared many things that i never heared before even in songs which i listen more than 5 or 6 years. Sometimes listening the same song later with loudspeakers i hear that details (like qiuet and deep backing vocals or some small details) but i never heared them before! Here i honestly can't say that Brainwavz M3 are noticeably better.
Highs. There are not much of them at all. But they seemed to be detailed enough (again we must remember IEM's price). I can even hear difference between different albums mastering. At some albums all is clear and good and in others i can notice badly recorded percussions. Sometimes even hats can be clear and nice but crashes and splashes sound like a shower. So i have to choose what to listen now LOL! If to compare with M3's highs 04's high's detalisation is noticeably lower. But i'll say again - it's almost twise cheeper.
Now let's talk about construction and fit.
Cable is good, strong and thick. But it has a great memory. It still has the folds at the places where it was folded at factory on it, but i use it about a month. Second about cable - it's copper wrapping under the isolation. It's slicing to layers at folds places so that i can see signal wires under it (ill give pics some later). But in general - i think it's rather good than bad.
And about disapointments. First is 3,5 mm to 6,35 jack. They would better not to place it in pakage. It looks very cheep and not durable and plastic between contacts is not accurate at all.
Second disappoint was when i tried boxed tips. There is just 4 pairs of HARD rubber tips and one foams pair. Rubber tips are not comfortable for me at all it was just pain in my ears. When i tried to put foams on - i did it. But when i tried to take them off - i did it too just the inside tubes still were on the soundguides.
I tried Brainwavz M3's box tips and they are much better. The large pair sounds great but it's too large just for a bit. And the M size fits perfect now i shall wait when my frind will bring me this pair. So i use the large one for a while.
So verdict is
1. Good and detailed sound with a little excess of mids but equalizer changes it till almost neutral without any notisable changes in sound quality or detalisation
2. Cheep complectation
3. Good enough fit with a little complications with getting better tips
So i can recommend them to anyone who is bedinnig audiophile or just wants to get a good sound for a good money and has a possibility to get a pair of good tips (or has the iron ears LOL) or to buy a more expencive version with a lots of tips. I heared something about revision 1 and revision 2 but i'm not sure.
I hope it's informative enough for users and will help someone to choose.
P.S. Sorry for grammatics. English is not my native language.
