Which amp would would be a good choice for me?

I have an 2008 iPod Classic 120GB and AKG K450's.

Just bought my K450's but I feel certain heavier rock songs tend to lack a bit of something.

Should I purchase Fiio E6 or something better like iBasso D-Zero? I don't feel like spending too much though..

What would you choose as your first amp and why?

I just posted a review of the Fiio e11. you should read it. I recommend it highly.

fiio E11 or some kind of prebuilt cmoy are both good first amp choices. My first amp was a prebuilt cmoy, and they are good just to know what an amp can do. I would also like to get a fiio E11 soon, to see what they are like.

I know aesthetics should not play a big part when choosing your portable amp but I can't help it. I feel both E7 and E11 look really plastic and cheap. I'm also planning on purchasing an YoTank cover for my iPod which naturally would look better with an aluminium covered amp.

E5 is one option but it's so small. I'd prefer something relatively thin but I wouldn't mind too much if it was as wide as the iPod Classic. Hence the question about iBasso D-Zero. Would that make a significant difference in SQ with my setup? In other words, would it be worth the $100 or so price tag?

i vote the e11 also. it give a good bass boost, and is great for a first amp:)
