Yeah can be a deal breaker with the ball busting regulations we have here, but alas we don't have import tax and VAT like in Europe and the US.

I was intimating sending any equipment that has lithium batteries by boat.

No restrictions doing that, otherwise only China and japan would have lithium batteries.

Normal peaks are Nov-Feb, and again around Aug/Sep for Winter skiing.

 

Early March is a pretty good month - still warm enough and settled enough to do a lot of activities.  But not too busy that it's over crowded.

 

As far as really low tourist season goes - probably around May/June.  No real snow at that stage - but weather cold.
