Anyone here into IEMs or just cans?

I had a pair of full-can sennheisers way long ago mainly for sound-mixing and would probably invest in another soon but not sure what is good for both live/studio mixing as well as audiophilia-nirvana... any thoughts or experience?

ps great 'downunder' idea for this thread!

Ahh welcome - new members just what we like to see! smile.gif

You probably need to look into 'monitoring' type cans ~ there's a few out there like the Audio Technica M50

and Sennheiser 380 Pro that are pretty much industry standard, walk into a studio and you'll see them lying around.

Did you have a budget? IEMS, Cans, Amps, DAC's ~ anything to do with audio fire away

Just ordered UM Miracles so that's kinda wiped my savings by a huge chunk! haha! Recently transacted for a cmoy type amp and looking into DACs, possibly the Fiio D3 for a start.

I am however very interested in tube-amps so any info would be appreciated! I do have an audiophile background but as I mentioned, a total noob in all things head-fi.

Ahh your timing is impeccable, our favorite man down here in Melbourne, George at Addicted to Audio will be

the very first retailer to offer up the first shipment of Woo Audio tube headphone amps all the way from New York

USA.

Prices for everyone really, key thing to remember is that Woo is all class and you should get 10+ years

(and the rest) of enjoyment out of one ~ worth saving for!!

Audiophilleo lands next week at A2A for DAC lovers looking for an SPDIF input solution with their PC, Mac or laptop.

Gwarmi, I personally think we should make a new appreciation thread on A2A. As much as I love them, I think this thread would better be suited as a lounge without any ads / deals. What do ya think? smile.gif

Fair enough, better to get to work on that too then!

Just put it up in case anyone missed the original thread in the sources section smile.gif

But we do discuss gear though, so while it shouldn't become an advertising pit since it's a lounge,

a few bargains here and there can't hurt biggrin.gif

Oh yes, we should have plenty of discussions just yeah, you know what I mean. We are a bit biased to A2A so we should keep it low. biggrin.gif

But yes for the time being, I'll just keep announcing any new shipments of delicious gear in the appropriate forum

eg, Sources if it's a DAC, Amps if (surprise surprise) it's an amp.

Must keep this thread purely loungey

Iems are great for stealth portable but big rigs with open cans generate a greater sense of space. iMO.   Just a very broad summary based on my experience.

Here's an open question ~ What does everyone think of Centrance - namely the Dacport and Dacmini?
