Alright, I'll be making an appointment with them next week. Their site doesn't mention anything about Custom IEMs, but I'll be making sure they have experience on the phone before making the appointment.

Good for a general introduction as to what amps are and how do they function, what do they do etc. If you hear tiny improvements or even a slight change in sound, you start realizing that amps do make differences and maybe go on and start researching.

If you put it that way, and the E5 makes one realize the need for amps, then I guess it's worth it.

Pretty much. If you have some headphones that a simple player would struggle with, the E5 opens them up, and 'makes one realize the need for amps'. That happened to me with my Ultrasone DJ1, where the bass simply multiplied as compared to my zune hp out (with the bass boost on).

Agreed. Unless you are trying to make a so-called 'ultraportable' clip + E5/6 combo haha. I'm actually thinking should I put them on sale for like $5 + shipping for those who are interested in their first amp.

I almost bought the HD25's for $150 but realised I don't have any need for on ears when I have full size for home and in ears for portable.

Time to upgrade my iem's.

Just found this thread and its great to have a fairly big Aussie head fi presence. biggrin.gif

I just bought a Asgard from the US site and paid so much for shipping. Wish I saw this earlier.
