Had both.  I sold the DT880 in the end.  Almost regret it though at times.  Have never regretted getting the HD600 though.

 

HD600 - slightly more relaxed, and mids very slightly forward.  Still has great bass and highs.

DT880 - faster, extends a little more on both bass and highs, but as a result mids are ever so slightly flat.

 

Both are simply fantastic cans.

Not sure who's into higher tier DJ cans but next week I'll definitely be getting my hands on the Ultrasone Signature Pro's

for an audition ~ interested to hear these, first $1000 DJ orientated cans - will post impressions.

 

Audiophilleo 1 & 2 USB to SPDIF converters *should* hopefully be in store as well, wonderful device for anyone who's

got a decent DAC and they've been wondering if it really flies out of the Coax input instead of USB via the laptop.

What is disappointing here in Adelaide besides the price of course, is the non existence of places to audition some high end head-fi gear.

A good bassline, tight bass is essential, closed, reasonable driver speed, swivel cups for when using just one cup

for monitoring mixes on the fly. Some have V-shaped curves, big bass down low but a reasonably bright

top treble too. Tough build quality as they dragged around from venue to venue. Must be easily serviced

if something breaks.

Hey double noob here, new to this forum and to headphones in an audiophile sort of manner! haha!

 

Anyone here into IEMs or just cans?

 

I had a pair of full-can sennheisers way long ago mainly for sound-mixing and would probably invest in another soon but not sure what is good for both live/studio mixing as well as audiophilia-nirvana... any thoughts or experience?

 

ps great 'downunder' idea for this thread!
