I picked up my SRH840 for $129 US when I had them - and picked them up myself. Scored a good deal on the SRH940 (US180) second hand through the used forums here and one of my clients brought them over for me. I'm just pretty patient - watch for bargains - and buy when the cross rates are in my favour. My HD600 were mint and just on 300 delivered.
Sadly we don't have the population over here - so I think the idea of a NZ meet may not eventuate (too far between Akld and Invercargill for a start). I have family in Melbourne though - so one of these days hopefully I'll get a chance to hook up with some of our Aussie mates at one of yours!
Yeh our last one was world class!
Some of the gear was very surprising to say the least :-
STAX 404, STAX 507, 2 x LCD-2's, 2 x HD800's, Edition 8, Edition 10, Vintage Grado RS1, Grado 325i, AKG K701, K601, Sennheiser HE60 + amps galore
Violectric V200, Luxman P1-u, Sugden Masterclass HA-4, Burson 160, Woo Audio 6 sources ranging from a vintage Luxman CD transport + tube stage, Violectric V800
- the works really!
And that's not even including the IEM's like the Shure 535, Ultimate Ears had an official rep and everything!
