I'd love to be able to hear some quality 250+ dollar headphones. Around here, people think that Bose and Beats headphones are audiophile. I've never had a chance to hear the Beats actually. The most valuable headphones I own is the Fostex T-20 which I don't think sound as good as the JVC's.

This is one of the most perplexing truths that came out of that whole saga that was the accidental death of the King of Pop,

Michael Jackson,by his bed side

was one of these :-

Imo the sony mdr v150s are better. To me the flats sound abysmal and tinny. But man are they durable.

QFT.

olor1n - this is exactly what I was trying to alude to earlier.  I've reached that with my HD600s.  Not saying that I won't go higher eventually - but for the time being, I am perfectly happy with my own meager set-up.  The only area I'd like to improve for now would be in the amp and dac department - but to be honest, the NFB-12 actually delivers really well for what it is - so I'll only upgrade it when I can afford it.

the otherway around for me, teh V150 was too muddy and veiled and all recesed at the same time. the flats were like decent IEMs without the isolation.

See, I thought those were like the only Bose product worth the asking price. My parents have one for listening to classical in the kitchen; I mean obviously its not HiFi caliber but the thing delivers legit sound and volume for something so small.

Sure for everyday people like you and me, why not, a friend of mine over in Phoenix, USA picked one up for 50% off at an audio fire sale.

He knew what he was getting but at the price <shrug> why not, it seemed like a good purchase for the day. Guess I'm just surprised at

how someone who cared so much for the music would fall asleep to listening to such a device when he clearly could have anything else.

Here's another one for the archives, according to 'Beatles myth and legends' ~ John Lennon and Paul McCartney would occasionally

disagree about producing techniques and final recordings. John was apparently more discerning, insisting on second takes or even

change of mastering staff while Paul McCartney was more akin to think 'Yep, it's on the record, what ever, it'll do'.
