Have A Song That Absolutely Destroys Your Ears When You Listen To It?

I have a thing in which I search for random words on Grooveshark and hit "play all" to get a variety. In searching the world "mail", I came upon Hush Mail by Infected Mushroom, which has a constant single-note bassline that repeats incessantly and loudly throughout most of the song. Listening through my M50's I got a headache and had to give up on music for a minute. Ever had a song give you a headache or explode your brain for the sheer mental pain of listening to it?

I don't listen to it but I remember the first time I heard it.  I just thought of it when I read the title.

Once upon a time, I listened to Vivaldi's Four Seasons too many times and I became sick of it once I heard the first few notes. smile.gif

Ah BenAdamson, you obviously haven't had an introduction to the wond'rus world of Ol' Bucky. AKA Buckethead. He's a fascinating thing. Go check out a wide variety of his music. Some will make you laugh, some will make you cry. Some might just make your jaw hit the floor.

Why am I talking about Buckethead? He was the guitarist for Praxis.

My XB500s hurt my temples when I wore them. I was lying infront of my sub and playing some dubstep, you know, real dubstep. It gave me a nosebleed. I guess that counts.

One of the tracks from Isao Tomita's "Snowflakes Are Dancing" has treble that drives the ears mad if one listens to it in a format with lots of compression.....Use Apple Lossless , FLAC, or other lossless format and it is not degrading to he ears at all, but compress it a lot and ouch!!!!! (That track is used in the beginning of the PBS TV series "Star Hustler".

Lol thats so random! Snowflakes Are Dancing was on my old Walkman X1050 I bought it used. I cant even remember what it sounds like. I'll go check it out now... Weird. Sounds a bit like Brian Eno. As to the most ear destructive track I've ever heard, it would have to be... Descent of the Damned by Buckethead. Ouch!

I'm a huge black metal fan but I'm convinced everyone who likes this album only do it because it sounds terrible and they want to like what others don't like. Seriously. I dare you. I forced myself through the album once with a bit too much volume and ******* it pierces the ears.'

I think I temporarily hurt my left ear with a very harsh sounding song I have, I wanted to see how long I could bear it at high volumes with the EX600 for some reason.

I like it. I just dislike the recording quality.

I think Merzbow easily gets the title here for much of the "music" under that artist.

I love this song.
