Beyerdynamic normal vs manufaktur?

SO I did a little searching for some new headphones because I just cant stand my current ones anymore, the clamping force is way too much and with how much I am on the computer lately I just get huge headaches from them. Narrowed my choice down to either the AKG Q701, Beyerdynamic DT880 or DT990, but I am pretty sure I am going to go with the DT880 600-ohm. Anyway, on to my current question at hand. I have seen mention that the Manufaktur models are "the best ones", but I havent really seen why. So what is the real difference between the normal ones I can just buy at Amazon and the Manufaktur models? Other than getting them personalized in color and adding a line of text. What are the REAL differences?

As far as I can tell, that's the only difference.  You can change the pads as well as the color, which will change the sound slightly, but afaik, the drivers and housings are otherwise the same.

Not having owned them, I can't guarantee that, but looking at the descriptions and specs on Beyer's website, that seems to be the case.

Alright thanks, thats what I was thinking as I was trying to find more info. I guess Ill save $125 and just buy the ones on Amazon then.

Apparently the drivers are matched which should give you a better balanced sound. I wouldn't think it's audible but I haven't had the chance to compare.
