No wonder Hip-Hop is dying with shiz like this... - Page 2

I much rather listen to a song with amazing lyrics and a mediocre beat then one with an amazing beat and horrible women degrading/Cars/Money/Drugs lyrics. But yeah most people will go for the latter

I never was a fan of hip hop but i respect the ones who preach meaningful things like political or ethical lyrics. My friend is hugely into the underground hip hop scene and he has shown me some with good lyrics. Unfortunately they throw degrading words in every once in a while to sell. It's tough to play hip hop and to play it the way it should be. The media and most fans demand degrading material. (not all fans mind you). I personally can't get passed the degrading words to sit down and enjoy a track. One exception though. Early eminem made me laugh and i quite enjoy his early material.

Run dmc from the 80s and 90s was great.

There are no posers, just Yonkers fans. XD

I went to their most recent show in DC. Holy mother of God. It was magical.

Although good lyrics are subjective, I'd say this is exactly where the divide is.
